How to use Venterra’s Touchless Package Management
It’s no surprise that package deliveries have increased with more people working remotely and children attending school from home. Managing online shopping and package deliveries efficiently has resulted in the need of a more seamless and safe experience.
As the pandemic shifts the multifamily industry and how we offer amenities, there have been some unique opportunities to provide innovative and seamless ways to provide package management services. Venterra’s SMARTPACKAGE lockers now offer a safer and easier way for residents to retrieve their packages with a touch-less experience.
There are two contact-free package pick-up methods available to properties with our SMARTPACKAGE lockers:
- Barcode: Scan the barcode included in your delivery notification (email or text) to open the locker door without having to use the touchscreen.
- Mobile App: Download the Parcel Pending mobile app (available for download on the App Store or Google Play Store). By scanning the barcode or pushing the button in the app notification, the locker door will open without having to use the touchscreen.
Celebrating Venterra’s Healthcare Heroes
Venterra Realty, a property management company that owns and operates 60 apartment communities in the US, is home to over 5,000 Healthcare Heroes. To support medical professionals needing to move, we waived deposits for new leases with approved credit in June. Now, we are celebrating our current Venterra residents in the medical field by sharing their stories, providing residents with honorary “Health Care Hero” t-shirts, and offering over $50,000 in gift cards as our way of simply saying, Thank You.

Convenient Self-Guided Apartment Tours and Contactless Move-In Experience

While some restrictions are being lifted as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we understand it can still be unsettling to be in public, while being respectful of social distancing orders. This fear may cause people to postpone major life decisions, including moving into a new apartment home. Now more than ever, it’s imperative to embrace technology in order to offer a wider variety of convenient touring options, including self-guided apartment tours.
At Venterra, we have you covered. We’re excited to now offer a no-contact, self-guided apartment tour option at many of our communities. Future residents can now use their smart devices to schedule and perform tours of our available apartment homes.
We are also taking extra steps to ensure your safety and the safety of our employees and residents at our apartment communities. Aside from implementing enhanced cleaning protocols, we are using LAST™, a hospital grade disinfectant and antimicrobial coating on our hard surfaces, providing an extra layer of protection for up to 30 days.

Groceries Delivered to Your Door
It’s no secret that social distancing can be difficult, especially when you’re in public places like grocery stores or home improvement retailers. You may find that you’re constantly passing by another patron or reaching for the same item on the shelf. It’s almost impossible to keep your distance 100% of the time. It can also be difficult to find time to go grocery shopping, as many of us have had to make changes to our normal routines. The good news is, when it comes to shopping, there are services that allow others to do the shopping for us and will deliver to your door. It also may end up saving us money, as it keeps us from browsing the store aisles for items not on our shopping lists.
Several grocery delivery services have been available for the past few years, but their popularity has skyrocketed due to recent events. Many of them have taken extra steps to ensure your safety, such as implementing contactless delivery. While not all of these types of services are available across the US, there are several options available for Venterra residents, including personal shoppers, meal kit deliveries and store delivery. Each service asks for your zip code via website or mobile app, so you can be sure to find the right service for you. As you’re searching, it’s important to take note of each company’s minimum order requirements and delivery fees. It’s also a good idea to check for membership options, as there are perks for joining, such as free delivery services.
Let’s take a look at some available options:
Personal Shoppers
- Instacart – This service allows you to choose a grocery store near you, add items to your cart and pay for your items through their service. Once your order is placed, an Instacart shopper grabs your items and delivers them to your door within a few hours. Be sure to visit their website for a list of available retailers they support, including CVS, PetCo and several grocery chains.
- Shipt – According to their website, Shipt makes online grocery delivery easy, connecting local retailers in your neighborhood with Shipt Shoppers that help you get the things you need. From grocery delivery to household essentials, alcohol, baby items, and more. They even offer same-day delivery.
- UberEats – If you don’t feel like cooking, and the food you’re craving doesn’t offer delivery, UberEats allows you to order from just about any restaurant, and a driver will pick it up and bring it right to your door. Keep in mind, there is a delivery fee for this service.
Meal Kit Delivery
- HelloFresh, BlueApron, HomeChef – These are just a few of the meal kit delivery services that allow you to choose from a wide selection of easy to prepare recipes. They supply the ingredients in one box and ship it to your home. There are several plan options, which allow you to choose the number of meals you want and the day you want them delivered.
Aren’t sure which one to try? Most meal kit companies have great coupons for first-time customers, so it’s easy to try out each one and then decide which one to stick with!
Store Delivery
Walmart Grocery lets you schedule a drop-off when it is most convenient for you at your home, office or other location – with a 100% money back guarantee! The only downside is only available at select Walmart stores. Their website lists all available locations. If delivery isn’t available from your closest Walmart, you can always shop online and schedule a pickup time. This option may not be as convenient, but it still allows you to avoid crowds, as a Walmart employee does the shopping for you and delivers your items to your car. This service is pretty popular, so make sure you plan ahead with your order.
You can also try a few other online retailers that offer delivery.
Amazon Fresh is a great option for people with an existing Amazon Prime membership. You’ll get access to fresh produce, packaged foods, and more. Amazon Fresh partners with local retailers and supermarkets in each city it operates in to fulfill orders. Similar to Walmart Grocery, this isn’t available in all cities, but a quick zip code search will let you know if it’s an option for you.
ThriveMarket carries more than 6,000 organic and non-GMO products to fit several diets or lifestyles. They ship anywhere in the US. While you can’t purchase produce or meat, they still offer plenty of pantry items, beauty and bath products, supplements and cleaning products. As an added bonus, they use carbon-neutral delivery, 100% recyclable packaging and zero-waste warehouses, and, if you become a member, you’re helping to support low-income families.
A similar option is Boxed, which allows you to purchase popular pantry, cleaning and beauty items in bulk. Plus, they have great deals on items each week. Buying in bulk can help you save money in the long run, so if you have the space to store bulk items, this is a great option to check out, especially for those who don’t want to pay membership fees to wholesale membership clubs, like Costco.
