WOW Story: Tickets to Tim McGraw

It was rodeo time in San Antonio. This year, the rodeo lineup included amazing artists including Tanya Tucker, Tim McGraw, 3 Doors Down and Ryan Bingham! Shannon, a resident at the Ventana Apartments in San Antonio, came into the offices and rodeo came up in conversation. She said she had always wanted to see Tim McGraw live. She mentioned that she had tickets to a concert about ten years ago, and the day of she was diagnosed with an illness that stopped her from being able to attend. After hearing her story, Teresa Heeney, the Community Manager from the Ventanna team was moved that she never had the chance to see her favorite entertainer. That was when she began to look into Rodeo tickets and ended up purchasing Shannon seats to see Tim McGraw live at the rodeo! Shannon said it was greater than anything that she could have ever expected! One bucket list item check for Shannon all thanks to the Ventana team listening in for an opportunity to bring joy.

The Opportunity

Shannon has lived at Ventana for nearly 6 years. She’s a friendly resident who often chats to catch up with office staff whenever she is nearby the office. One day, she came into the office and started chatting with Teresa Heeney, the Community Manager at Ventana. In their conversation, the upcoming San Antonio rodeo came up. Shannon and Teresa were reveling in the amazing line up of performers when Shannon mentioned how much she’s always wanted to see Tim McGraw. She talked about how she had been a Tim McGraw fan her whole life and has always wanted to see him perform live. Shannon later explained that about 10 years ago she had bought tickets to go see Tim McGraw, but didn’t get to attend because she, unfortunately, was diagnosed with an illness that prevented her from going.

The Epiphany 

After hearing about Shannon not being able to see Tim McGraw 10 years ago, and knowing that he was in town for a concert coming up, she knew exactly what she needed to do. Right after leaving the office, Teresa got online and purchased 2 tickets in prime seating for Shannon and a guest of her choosing. She wanted to show Shannon how much We Care at Ventana, and knew giving Shannon the ability to finally see her favorite performer after 10 years would be something special. Teresa has also had to cancel plans to due to illness and wanted to bring a happy memory to life for Shannon.

The WOW Moment

Once the tickets were purchased, Teresa called Shannon to let her know that she had a surprise for her. When she came to the office, Teresa explained how she was so moved by her story and wanted to support her in making her dream of seeing Tim McGraw in concert come true. Shannon was completely blown away, and couldn’t believe that her apartment staff would pay such close attention to detail and go above and beyond to make her smile.

Soon after, it was concert time. Shannon was able to bring her mom, and they checked this item off her bucket list together! After the concert, Shannon emailed Teresa the following note thanking her for making her dream come to life:

Hi, Teresa! 

Just wanted to send you a big THANK YOU for the Rodeo tickets! My mom and I had a blast! Plus, Tim McGraw was amazing, too! He ages so beautifully – haha!
