John Foresi - CEO, Co-founder and Director
As Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Venterra, John has overall responsibility for the Company. In addition to his broader responsibilities, he invests considerable time developing Venterra’s conservative macroeconomic views and ensuring that Venterra’s financial transactional activities are consistent with these views to deliver the highest possible risk-adjusted return for its investors. In addition to experience in the real estate industry, John has held Chief Executive positions in several technology companies, focusing on the supply chain and customer relationship management areas, and has been a Director of several technology companies. John has also held senior management positions in investment banking, where he was responsible for valuations and mergers and acquisitions and has held senior management positions in the transportation and consumer products industries. John has been recognized as a national 'Top 40 Under 40' award winner and as a top 100-impact executive by B2B Magazine. He has also been a former board member of Salt + Light Television, former member of YPO Upper Canada and current member of WPO Ontario and the Chief Executive Organization. John currently sits on the Board of the WPO Ontario Chapter, and on the board has held the positions of Education Chair, Vice Chair and is currently the Chapter Chair of WPO Ontario. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Andrew Stewart – Chairman, Co-founder and Director
Andrew’s oversight includes strategic direction for the company, corporate governance, institutional investor relationships, and approving all executional components of acquisitions, divestitures and refinancings. Given his past experience in technology, he oversees the continued build-out of Venterra’s advanced management and operational information systems. His professional background includes executive management of several software and technology development companies, along with extensive experience in automotive engineering and operations management. In these areas, Andrew has excelled at developing and deploying sophisticated mathematical optimization models to drive superior operating results. He is chairman of Spring Rains, whose mission is to provide entrepreneurs in developing nations with access to capital and training. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence from Queen’s University and TH Karlsruhe University (Germany).
Greg W. Finch – President, Co-founder
Greg is President of Venterra. He is instrumental in the development of Venterra's acquisition and disposition strategies; negotiating the terms of its financial transactions and overseeing the relationships with its business partners including brokers, institutional equity and debt partners. In addition to his history with Venterra since its inception, Greg's professional background includes extensive experience in all facets of commercial and multi-family real estate, and many years of experience in Natural Resource Management. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Psychology from Trinity Western University.
Richard Roos - Chief Operating Officer
Richard joined Venterra in November 2002. Since that time Richard has taken on successively increasing responsibility and now oversees all ongoing property operations. His focus on operational excellence ensures that Venterra’s portfolio achieves its full financial potential. He has conceived and executed numerous industry-leading operating initiatives which have established Venterra as a top tier operator in the multi-family industry. Before joining Venterra Realty, Richard held a senior financial position with a technology focused sales and marketing solution provider for the Real Estate Development Industry. Prior to that, Richard was a manager in the corporate finance group at BDO Dunwoody LP, focusing on business valuations and acquisition due diligence. Richard holds a Bachelor of Accounting with First Class Honors from Brock University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
Calvin Lee-Young - Vice President of Finance
Calvin joined Venterra in June 2004 as Assistant Controller. Since that time, he has progressively taken on increasingly senior roles. Now, as Vice President of Finance, he has responsibility for all the accounting, financial reporting and treasury areas of the business. He also fills an instrumental role in executing our corporate and investor governance practices and is the primary interface for day-to-day communications with our limited partners and institutional investors. Before joining Venterra, Calvin was a manager in the Audit and Assurance group of Deloitte & Touche LLP where his client base was primarily focused on commercial, retail and public sector real estate. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
